New version of Google search called Google Caffeine coming soon, should Bing be worried?
Google is expected to launch a new version of its search engine called Google Caffeine pretty soon. Google during August announced that it was working on a new version of Google Search called Google Caffeine. With reference to the latest development, it is pretty clear that the product has been completed. We might be seeing the public launch of Google Caffeine pretty soon.

The yet to be released version of Google Search doesn’t bring any graphical/appearance changes. Infact, Google claims that Google Caffeine is targeted to improve the indexing speed, accuracy and comprehensiveness of the web search experience which of course means a new search infrastructure is expected to arrive. And since it is Google we are talking about, there’s a high probability that Google would have reached its target with high success rate.
Previously, Google launched a developer preview of Google Caffeine, which with the passage of time went through certain testing and tweaking activities. If you attempt to access the developer preview of Google Caffeine now, you wouldn’t be able to see the developer preview. Instead a message will be visible according to which Google Caffeine is expected to go live pretty soon on its first data center. This is what you get, if you access the Caffeine page:
Based on the success we’ve seen, we believe Caffeine is ready for a larger audience. Soon we will activate Caffeine more widely, beginning with one data center. This sandbox is no longer necessary and has been retired, but we appreciate the testing and positive input that webmasters and publishers have given.
There are a couple of conclusions that can be retrieved from this announcement, which are:
- Caffeine testing was successful. The project is moving forward
- Caffeine is going live on Google pretty soon, starting with one datacenter
An important question that arises here is this: Should Bing be worried about Google Caffeine?. What will be the impact on Bing’s market share?
On the other hand, we can’t rule out the possibility of Bing having a pleasant surprise in store for its users. What do you think? Do share with us.
