N900 has a dismal sales record, yet to reach the 100,000 mark
Here is another punch to the face for Nokia. Analyst Gartner has revealed that the Nokia N900 hasn’t had the impressive run in the market and is yet to reach the 100,000 mark. What does this mean in other words? It’s a no competitor for the likes of iPhone, Android and Blackberry handsets. Interestingly Nokia personnel sees the track record of the N900 other wise.
A Nokia spokesperson didn’t confirm the sales number but went on to say that the Finnish mobile maker was pleased with the Internet Tablet performance. Alberto Torres, head of Nokia’s solutions business went on to say that the sales have exceeded the expectation Nokia had from the Maemo 5 powered handset.
According to the stats revealed by Gartner, Nokia sold 50,000 N900s in the last quarter of 2009, but took a fall back in sales of Q1 2010.
