Nokia UAE provides outstanding offers to the local community this Ramadan
Nokia, the Finland based mobile company which is now providing its exceptional service in almost every country of this world has announced some special offers for the Muslims (Local Community) in this Holy Month of Ramadan.
This year in Ramadan, Nokia has developed a Ramadan Calendar application for its users which can easily be downloaded by visiting the Facebook page of Nokia UAE, for each Ramadan Calendar app downloaded and installed through the Nokia UAE Facebook page, Nokia will donate five UAE Dirhams to one of three selected charities listed below:

Local charities will receive a donation for every Ramadan Calendar app download
This Ramadan, Nokia one of the world’s leading mobile phone manufacturers, has announced the opportunity for users to enhance their lives as well as those of others, by developing a downloadable dedicated Ramadan Calendar application which enhances users’ experiences during the Holy Month and donates to their favorite charities.
For each Ramadan Calendar application installed through the Nokia UAE Facebook page, Nokia will donate five UAE Dirhams to one of three selected charities including UAE Red Crescent, Dubai Autism Center and the Children with Cancer Support Organization. The calendar will allow users to access daily digital gifts in the form of trivia about Ramadan such as Islamic stories, daily fasting tips, images, prizes, and much more.
“This year, Nokia is once again showing its understanding of regional culture and its commitment to the local community through the launch of the Ramadan Campaign. We are all about connecting people and this Holy Month we encourage people to embrace the spirit of the occasion by helping us to connect with and give to those who are more in need ”, said Tom Farrell, General Manager, Nokia Lower Gulf.
Further Ramadan applications available for download cover a broad range of subjects and include: Holy Quran, Prayer Times, Hadeeth, Qibla Direction, Zakah Calculator, Boyoot Allah, Mozzaker. Social apps available to keep users in touch include Ramadan Greetings, Whatsapp, FourSquare, Facebook and themes and ringtone apps include TaherQalby, SawomMaqbool, Ramadan Kareem and Nour Ramadan. All applications are available on the Nokia Ovi Store and can be billed directly to user’s Etisalat phone prepaid or postpaid accounts.
“Over 600,000 Ramadan applications were downloaded in the Middle East from the Ovi Store during the Holy Month in 2010 while the Quran app recorded over one million downloads in the Middle East last year. These figures underline the leadership of the Nokia Ovi Store and with the latest and freshest apps ready for easy download, it shows how Nokia strives to further enhances our users’ experience through deeper engagement,” Tom Farrell added.
Ramadan applications for 2011 are compatible with over 75 Nokia devices and the user interface for the applications is in English, Arabic, French and Urdu.
