Nokia starts work on its first Windows Phone device
Nokia’s CEO Stephen Elop while talking to Reuters revealed that the Finlanders have started working on their first Windows Phone device.
During the insightful conversation, Elop dismissed speculations of Microsoft thinking on a possible Nokia acquisition:
To the extent that a partnership has been formed around what they’re really interested in, then what would an acquisition bring other than a good year of anti-trust investigation, huge turmoil, delays
While the news of Nokia working on its Windows Phone debutant is good, one just wonders will the world see the first Nokia manufactured WP7 device in the current year, the hopes of which were raised by Nokia itself at the Mobile World Congress. Having said that, it’s worth mentioning that another Nokia official hinted at the top ranked smartphone company shipping its first Windows Phone device in 2012.
