Microsoft considering Office for iPad
Sources report that Microsoft is thinking on the lines of bringing Office for Mac for the iPad as well. This possibility was revealed by the Redmondians themselves while demonstrating the Office for Mac 2011 which itself is a pretty cool prospect.
Mike Tedesco, Microsoft’s Senior Product Manager for WindowsBU said regarding the Office for iPad possibility:
Yeah, it’s something that we’re looking at. Obviously the announcement (of the iPad) is really fresh and there’s nothing to announce or nothing that I can talk to you about today. We’ve had tablet technology forever and both Windows 7 and Windows Vista automatically detect that and you can be running your Office on there
Apple itself is preparing iWorks for the yet to be released iPad which will have a price tag of $9.99. It remains to be seen how much success will Microsoft have if it rolls out the iPad specific Office for Mac. More importantly, what will be the apps and features that will be featured in the Tablet version? Only time will tell the answer to these questions. However, if you are willing to share your thoughts regarding this matter, you are welcome to comment.
