Quick Share:
Attention Mac users, Microsoft has announced Office for Mac 2011. If you were feeling a bit envious when Microsoft unleashed Office 2010 Beta, then those jealousy days are over. To make your day even more interesting, you will be getting the similar range of features if not all that your Windows compatriot have in their possession. Yes, the ribbon interface is one of them. Other features listed after the jump.
Office for Mac 2011 expected features
Here are the likely features that will be making their way for Office for Mac 2011:
-
Ribbon interface: Office 2007 brought the sexy and sleeky ribbon interface for Windows users but not for Mac. This version will remove that missing feature once and for all. The ribbon interface is based on Mac aesthetics, in other words a native look is what we are talking about.
-
Sharing: Mac and Windows based Office users will be able to collaborate on documents. Integration with Office Web Apps is also on the line.
-
Outlook: Prior to this Mac users have always had Entourage as their desktop mail client, but with the upcoming version Outlook will be taking the center stage. So you can expect features like PST file importing, Time Machine and more.
