Office for Mac 2011 expected features

Here are the likely features that will be making their way for Office for Mac 2011:

  • Ribbon interface: Office 2007 brought the sexy and sleeky ribbon interface for Windows users but not for Mac. This version will remove that missing feature once and for all. The ribbon interface is based on Mac aesthetics, in other words a native look is what we are talking about.
  • Sharing: Mac and Windows based Office users will be able to collaborate on documents. Integration with Office Web Apps is also on the line.
  • Outlook: Prior to this Mac users have always had Entourage as their desktop mail client, but with the upcoming version Outlook will be taking the center stage. So you can expect features like PST file importing, Time Machine and more.
