Google: Keyword [bin laden] search results showed 1 million percent increase in one hour
Oh boy this ‘bin laden’ incident is pouring out some exotic news for Googlers, first it was about Google maps giving us the location based reports on Osama Bin Laden’s hide-out in Abbottabad, Pakistan – And now we are being updated by Google’s Twitter account regarding the search results for the query ‘bin laden’ looked over between 7:30-8:30 pm PST on 1st May 2011.
Bin Laden death is one of the biggest news stories in years – after US President Barack Obama confirmed the killing of Osama Bin Laden by US Navy SEALs at his mansion in Pakistan, it was just a matter of few minutes that this news was recognized as the global trending topic on every social media.
Google the giant search engine via their Official Twitter account posted a tweet revealing about it’s hottest search term results on 1st May 2011. And the tweet mentioned:
On May 1 between 7:30-8:30 pm PST, we saw a 1 million percent increase in searches for [bin laden]
For giving out a more clear result, Google also attached a picture with the tweet exhibiting the search activity report for the term ‘Bin Laden’ in a chart:
The above image is apparently showing that how people in every corner of this world searched for the term ‘Bin Laden’ on Google between 7:30-8:30 pm PST, which resulted in one million percent increase in it’s searches.
