Hpc (High Performance Computing) In Cloud Computing
Feb 24th
The main features of high performance computing include direct control of complex systems connected in parallel manner. This control allows fine tuning of application software to an ultimate extent in order to achieve optimal results with the target hardware. Acquiring the cloud computing environment for HPC (High Performance Computing) is debatable. The main issue that is to be pondered upon is that whether it would be suitable to surrender almost full control of applications voluntarily before automated software managers and cloud owners (as it goes with the cloud computing environment)?
Open Source Medical Informatics!
Feb 23rd
The open source regime is not new to the world. Generally, the term open source refers to non-proprietor based software that is available to all the programmers/coders of the world in terms of source code and for free. The notion of open source health informatics can ideally be considered as a fresh provision for the health sector to process health related data. Laboratory Information and Management Systems are a very good example of Open Source Health Information Systems.
The Technology of the Internet
Feb 22nd
It was only a few decades ago that the world was unaware of the terminology ‘Internet’. Today, there is virtually no literate human household that may be devoid of this facility. The internet has become such a norm that the mere existence of man at a certain place without having been connected to the internet is though impossible.
About (2011) defines the internet as:
“The term Internet today refers to the global network of public computers running Internet Protocol. The Internet supports the public WWW and many special-purpose client/server software systems. Internet technology also supports many private corporate intranets and private home LANs.” (about, 2011)
SaaS ERP Benefits!
Feb 21st
SaaS or Software as a Service
“is a way of delivering applications over the Internet—as a service. Instead of installing and maintaining software, you simply access it via the Internet, freeing yourself from complex software and hardware management.” (Salesforce, 2000)
Often termed as Web-Based software and even On-Demand software, Saas is particularly designed to work on the servers of the Provider. Following are the numerous benefits associated with it:
Outlook.com: The new web mail service!
Feb 20th
Outlook.com has launched as another one of the ventures by Microsoft. The name brings back memories of the dear old Desktop client MS Outlook that used to manage our email for us. Though the Outlook desktop app still exists, the domain has managed to elevate itself up to the cloud now, thanks to Microsoft.
Google Science Fair 2013
Feb 17th
The Google Science Fair is a golden opportunity for all the science lovers out there. If you think that you would love to know the mechanism behind how your father’s iPhone 5 is technically configured or how do volcanoes erupt hot lava from within the core of the Earth even though there are no visible signs that the core would be so hot or if you’re mesmerized that what exactly was the comet that injured so many people across Russia yesterday then you might just have the fervor and passion within you to attempt to replicate the existing natural phenomenon or to make something new altogether.
Firewall
Feb 15th
A firewall is a software/hardware tool that is used to protect a computing device from malware/other malicious software or Trojan horses’ intrusion. These external threatening agents often attack a computing device when it is connected to another external computing device that may be affected with a malware. This connection may be via a network etc.
Firewall prevents unauthorized access to a computing device by checking every message transfer to and from the computing device. It restricts any message transfer that does not comply with the defined security standards embedded in it. Firewalls protect a computing device throughout its connection to the internet by continuously monitoring all its activity.
What is a Database?
Feb 12th
A Database is a physical organization of files that collectively form a data bank. This data-bank has the provision of being able to be accessed by software instances for information retrieval and storage. An instance of a database however, is a virtual structure that is a copy of the entire database environment. This includes the tables within a database, the RDBMS environment and other functions associated with it. Each instance is a separate environment that manages the respective data associated with it for the database users. Every database is associated with one or more databases instances. This helps in easy and timely modification of data and does not involve accessing and running through all the data organized within a database.
Cloud Computing – Future Trends
Feb 11th
The entire cyberspace is virtually moving over the cloud. What the future holds in it for the present and prospective cloud users is anxiously being tracked. “Hybrid Cloud Computing” is the term coined for the future trends of present day Cloud Computing. Quite a lot has been said and written about the reduction of usage of physical resources as a result of conversion over the cloud. This is one of the main reasons why the future of cloud computing is considered very bright as it eliminates the need to user servers. The prosperity of businesses and the incorporation of latest technologies in their organizational structure is being made very flexible and convenient with the help of migration over the cloud.
