Palm has leaked an early edition of WebOS 1.2 to a few users, giving the world a sneak peek at the next version of this operating system. This is being carefully examined, and there’s good news and bad news for those who have a Palm Pre.
The good news is that the next version of this operating system might start using the LEDs that a built into the Pre to notify users of events.
With this feature, the LEDs that are on both sides of the Gesture Area will blink to notify users of events.

However, the pre-release version of WebOS 1.2 has this feature completely disabled, and it’s not clear if it will be part of the shipping version.
In the bad news department, the next version of this OS will apparently allow Palm to remotely remove applications from users’ devices.
Users will get the notice:
Palm had to delete this application from the App Catalog and your device. If you paid for this app, your money will be refunded.
