The only question that is asked by every PSN user nowadays is, “When will Sony be restoring its PlayStation Store?” – And just few hours back we saw Sony revealing the answer. According to the official PlayStation US Blog, PlayStation Store that was previously reported to get restored on May 24th, will now return this week.

PlayStation Store to return this week

In the latest update shared by PlayStation Blog, it is mentioned that Sony will restore all PSN services, including the PlayStation Store, this week for all regions except Japan, Hong Kong and South Korea.

See below, what Sony says about its full PSN services restoration:

Tokyo, May 31, 2011 – Sony Corporation and Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) announced today that Sony Network Entertainment International (SNEI, the company) will fully restore all PlayStation®Network services in the Americas, Europe/PAL territories and Asia, excluding Japan, Hong Kong, and South Korea by the end of this week. The company will also resume Music Unlimited powered by Qriocity™ for PlayStation®3 (PS3®), PSP® (PlayStation®Portable), VAIO and other PCs. Details for Japan, Hong Kong, and South Korea as well as the remaining services on Qriocity will be announced as they become available.

Online game play, account management, friend lists and chat functionality were the services  that was previously accessed by the users, but now this full restoration of PlayStation Network and other services signify that users will now be able to purchase and download games from the PlayStation Store, do in-game commerce, redeem vouchers and codes, and will also have access to Music Unlimited service powered by Qriocity.

psn to return this week

A few weeks back, Sony reported that the company will also roll out its ‘Welcome Back’ appreciation program for users, once the PlayStation Network and Qriocity services are fully restored. The welcome back program is a kind of compensation offered by Sony to its users for what they have suffered during the PlayStation network outage.

The last two months were very detrimental for Sony, as the company received multiple attacks from hackers on its online gaming network and websites, which also resulted in compromising sensitive data. Although, Sony has now tightened the security and has also taken strict measures for protecting its network from such intrusions – But will that stop the lethal hackers to infiltrate Sony’s servers again? That’s still a big question.

We hope this time, Sony will not delay the restoration of PlayStation Store and all other services, like it did previously. What do you think, will the company be able to restore all of its services during this week or not? Please share your views with us by leaving a comment in the box below.
