Rumor: Bing to become iPhone’s new default search engine
Attention everyone, specifically Google, rumor has it that Apple is in talks with Microsoft to use Bing as iPhone’s default search engine. Folks at Google will be wondering we are the leading search engine and this is the reward we get. From what we gather, the two IT giants not to mention fierce rivals have been in talks for a few weeks now regarding the Bing usage as the default search engine. Let us examine what are the motives for the Redmondians and the Cupertinos, if this deal concludes in a positive manner.
Microsoft is looking to beat Google in the search engine market, getting the Bing touted as decision engine on iPhone will certainly help in that cause. Coming to Steve Jobs’ corner, Apple wants to gain some success into the advertising arena, something which Bing could do for them.
Just a speculation on my side, will Apple be announcing this at the 27th January’s Apple Tablet launch event? More importantly, will it be part of the upcoming iSlate? Do share with us your thoughts.
