Finally some overclock  news to share with you folks. As always, XDA is once again behind this overclock effort. An XDA member who goes by the name blackjackboy, along with the help of other devs has managed to over clock Samsung Captivate, the AT&T version of Samsung Galaxy S to 1.2 Ghz.

This overclock was achieved by creating an almost bug free kernel to improve the working of the Samsung Captivate. The kernel has an annoying little bug in the form of a boot lag but that’s nothing when you get to use the Hummingbird processor at 1.2 Ghz. And here’s the killer deal – the processor can be further overclocked to 1.6 Ghz.

There’s no telling the kind of issues that one might run into after overclocking his Samsung Captivate. If you are the adventorous kind, head over to this thread to find out what you need to do to achieve the overclock.
