Now this is a development that iPhone 4 users won’t be all happy to hear. Apple has made it loud and clear that the antennagate carrying iPhone 4 won’t be getting the very exciting Siri feature.

9to5Mac broke this news courtesy an email sent by Apple to Michael Steeber, an iOS developer. The important text of the email goes like this:

Engineering has provided the following feedback regarding this issue:Siri only works on iPhone 4S and we currently have no plans to support older devices.

This news comes as a shocker for iPhone users across the globe who have heard rumors of Apple testing the speech to text feature on iPhone 4 and other iOS 5 compatible devices. Not only that, the jailbreak community just Yesterday showed the feature working on iPhone 3GS.

Perhaps the only positive thing to note from the above email excerpt is that the Cupertinos have no current plans of bringing Siri to devices other than iPhone 4S. May be they will do that in a few months time when they have sold millions and millions of iPhone 4S units. Let us know if you agree with this skepticism of ours on our Twitter and Facebook channel.
