Sony has been hacked again, Phishing site discovered on one of its servers
After sorrow comes joy, but in Sony’s case it is pretty much different – Sony’s recent intrusions that resulted in compromising sensitive data and caused company to bear elephantine losses was not enough for the company’s misfortune, because it has been hacked once again and this time it is Sony’s Thailand website that has been invaded by the hackers.
In this recent hack, a security firm, F-secure has discovered a credit card phishing site running on one of Sony’s servers. This is how the security firm reports about it:
We know you’re not supposed to kick somebody when they’re already down… but we just found a live phishing site running on one of Sony’s servers.
Below is the image of credit card phishing website that has been found running on one of Sony’s server:
This hack seems to have no similarities with previous intrusions and appears to be targeting only the customers of Italian credit card company.
F-secure made it clear that the server being attacked has no access to Sony customer’s personal information, and further added that they have notified Sony about the attack, and have also blocked the phishing site URL for their customers.
So, this is not at all a very good start for Sony, after restoration of its PlayStation network.
