It is all well known that Google Chrome is far behind Microsoft’s Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox browsers in market share. Internet Explorer is used by more than two-thirds of all internet users, while Chrome is used by less than 3%, according to web firm Net Applications.

Google said:

User response to Google Chrome has been outstanding, and we’re continuing to explore ways to make Chrome accessible to even more people,

We are in the process of testing one such channel with Sony,

The deal with Sony was first reported by the Financial Times.

This deal may be a threat for Microsoft, but Microsoft’s main challenge in the browser market at the moment seems to be Firefox, whose market share has been steadily climbing despite the rollout of Internet Explorer 8.
