T-Mobile G1 to get an Android Eclair or a higher update
It has been a while since the launch of Android 2.0 aka Eclair. Various mobile carriers have announced their plans to officially upgrade their handset offering to the successor of Android 1.6. You can add one more cellphone to that list, T-Mobile G1. Rumor has it that the first commercial Android powered phone will be getting the OTA update for Eclair. How good a rumor is it? Let’s discuss it in the next paragraph.
The first question to ask is who is the source of this rumor. Well an anonymous insider has tipped off ANDROIDSPIN about the OTA update arriving for G1 from T-Mobile.
There is confusion as to whether T-Mobile will be rolling out an Android 2.0 or Android 2.0.1 update , but hey at least a mobile OS is in the waiting.
