Everyone knows how much popular and in-demand Android 2.1 has been ever since its launch. It looks as if almost every single Android phone user wants to get the latest update of Google mobile OS which will bring the live wallpaper functionality and much more. Well we got good news for Sprint HTC Hero owners. Rumor has it that the much awaited Android 2.1 update will make its way to HTC Hero on 9th April, if a leaked Sprint internal document is to be believed.
iPhone and Android serving the majority of mobile traffic

Admob has released Mobile Metrics for the month of February and the report once again emphasizes the significance of mobile phones in today’s competitive business world. Android and iPhone have once again emerge as the leading source of mobile traffic. Overall smartphones contributed 48% of AdMob worldwide traffic. In february 2009, it brought 35% of mobile traffic only, which of course means that the mobile industry is on the right track.
Digg app for Android coming soon

According to an official tweet from the Digg folks themselves, Digg app is coming pretty soon for Android phones. How cool is that? The current status of the app is pretty promising itself since it is now in the testing stages which means the construction work has already been done and only bugs are being eliminated.
Google Gesture Search now available for Android 1.6

In the beginning of the month, Google rolled out Gesture search for Android phones or should I say for Android 2.0+ phones. Naturally, users with Android 1.6 devices were feeling a left behind. Google understood that and as a result rolled out the Gesture search for Android 1.6. Gesture Search is a Google Labs app for Android that lets you search for music, contacts and so on.
Sprint joins the Nexus One bandwagon

Guess who decided to join the Nexus One party? Sprint is the latest carrier to have open its sales gates for Google‘s first online sold mobile phone. With this, it becomes the fourth telecommunication company to offer the phone, the other three being T-Mobile (first to launch), AT&T just launched it and Verizon preparing to do so. Unfortunately, that’s all that was revealed by the US based company Details regarding the price and availability are still unknown. Sources say that these details might be unveiled next week at the CTIA event.

The maps app for mobile brings a handful set of new features (including the latitude widget) that will minimize your search time and will ensure that the information you are looking for is in front of you all the time.
