This morning, rumors surfaced which suggested Apple might be getting closer and closer to purchasing Lala. Well guess, what, those rumors turned out to be true. Apple has acquired the music startup company which offers streaming music service. This means now users can listen to their songs directly from the cloud without having to download it to their PC or mobile. With this deal, Apple is looking to offer a streaming music for its users, something which iTunes doesn’t offer.
Mark my words, Verizon days of attacking iPhone are far from over. Yes, Verizon has launched yet another commercial, in which it attacks Apple’s premium mobile phone once again. This commercial terms the iPhone as clueless which is pretty much debatable, and iPhone users will be least impressed by it.
Own an iPod Touch? Are you facing the white screen of death problem? Don’t sweat we have got the solution for you. Essentially what is required, is to perform a hard reboot, that will hopefully restore the iPod Touch to normal mode.
Apple recently posted a job listing for an iPhone software engineer to work on iPhone’s default Maps app. The required candidate will work with the iPhone and iPod Touch Maps team and will play a central role in taking the Maps app to the next level. This is interesting, when you consider the recent series of ongoing events between Apple and Google, and raises a pretty important question which is: Is Apple planning to gain independence from Google Maps?
Tweetie 2.1 which happens to one of the most popular Twitter app for iPhone has just hit Apple’s App store. Users who already own Tweetie 2 can upgrade to the latest version absolutely free. Version 2 of Tweetie brings new and exciting features such as lists, geotagging and the new style re-tweet.
Rumors are always good and create excitement specially if they are related to iPhone. According to MacRumors, Apple has started developing and testing a new generation of iPhone. This information was shared by iPhone developer Pandav, who spotted this interesting bit of information in its usage records that identified an unreleased iPhone using their app named iBART – a public transportation guide for San Francisco train system.
One of the highlights during last week’s PDC event was Silverlight 4 Beta. During the Silverlight note, it was mentioned that Silverlight streaming is now available and working on iPhone. Well we got more on that. For starters, Microsoft worked with Apple and got the approval from its rival regarding the iPhone streaming functionality. This doesn’t mean that Silverlight plug-ins for Safari are on the way. (The following paragraphs describe how Silverlight streaming works for iPhone)
Guess what day it is?. Its Black Friday day. And Yes, Apple has got some interesting deals for you that simply can’t be ignored. iPhone, iPod Touch, iMac and other cool stuff from Apple is up for grabs. On an average, Apple is giving around 10% discount for various items which is modest.
Many of you would be enjoying your Thanksgiving holiday. Well we got more good news for you. Microsoft intends to become a part of your holiday season, with your comfort their main priority, which Apple apparently doesn’t care for. To facilitate its consumer base, Microsoft has announced smokingly hot black Friday deals for its consumers. And, it is unique since you don’t need to go to the mall to buy holiday gifts, you can sit at home and purchase gifts directly from Microsoft Store.
AT&T needed a rescue act from someone and Apple has done just that. Apple has come out to the rescue of AT&T as it has launched an attack on Verizon, a quite smart one I must say by launching a couple of new commercials. The just launched ads, which are well thought out, identify an advantage that AT&T offers to its iPhone subscribers, which Verizon can’t. AT&T‘s 3G network is capable of supporting voice calls and data calls simultaneously, which unfortunately Verizon’s CDMA/EV-DO technology cannot do. (Commercials embedded at the end of the post)
With AT&T’s simultaneous voice and data traffic support, user can attend a voice call and at the same time check out a website, email and other related stuff.
Here is one thing that AT&T doesn’t provide, tethering support for iPhone which the users have been waiting for a long long time.
Verizon previously has been targeting Apple as well as AT&T by rolling out an ad namely iDon’t. Then very recently it released a new funny commercial in which it placed iPhone in the land of misfit toys.
One more question, was there a need for Apple to roll out these commercials? Do share your thoughts with us.
