It seems that this week will be the iPhone 5 launch rumor week. Hot on the heels of claiming late August as the release date for the next gen iPhone, BGR now claims that AT&T will start selling the iPhone 5/4S in September.

These two technologies have stood adjacent to each other competing for several years. Opting between the two isn’t a difficult task as both technologies have their own pros and cons.

See who is following who’s trail? AT&T last week reduced the iPhone 3GS (8 GB) price to $49, which according to us and many others in the tech circle was an effort on account of the not so efficient carrier to stop iPhone users from switching to Verizon iPhone.

Piper Jaffrey analyst Gene Munster in his research note, has made an estimation, according to which Apple will sell just 9 million units of Verizon iPhone in 2011. Now that’s a relatively low number considering the fact that AT&T sold around 5.2 million iPhone units in Q3 of 2010.
