| Google purchased Android in 2005 for a small, undisclosed amount of money. | In the year 2005 when Google chose to make the Android company as part of its own the outside world of smart phones was overwhelmed by existing giants like iPhone and Microsoft. It was in their acclaimed presence that a noisy inclusion into the market might not have been able to bloom to its fullest. The publicity it would have gained would have involved severe comparisons with tried and tested counterparts. Any lacking on the part of Android would have been severely shunned and may have resulted in the breaking down of the entire launch sequence of it. It was in the light of these thoughts that Android, embedded with, wireless connectivity, social networking service, Google short messaging service, ability to locate the owner’s location and preferences silently made its way through to its present strong position. Android beats iOS in the smartphone activation race

I don’t know about you but I was expecting this – Android has gone above iOS in the activation race. Android God father Andy Rubin has posted a tweet in which he shares the pleasant news of Google activating more than 300,000 phones each day.
RIM unveils its playful Tablet, the BlackBerry PlayBook

The tablet which prior to today’s announcement was residing in the rumor land is called PlayBook. Android to get its very own WordPress app

While it’s still only a rumor, there’s a good chance that an official WordPress app is soon to arrive for the Google Android platform as the WordPress.org subdomain “android.wordpress.org” has already been setup, although not in use at this time.

iheartradio app lands at the Android market

Clear Channel has unleashed iheartradio, a radio app for Android powered phones. The streaming radio app prior to this launch was already available for the iPhone and BlackBerry platform and it was only a matter of time before it was announced for the ever growing mobile platform from Google.
