The publicity it would have gained would have involved severe comparisons with tried and tested counterparts. I don’t know about you but I was expecting this – Android has gone above iOS in the activation race. Android God father Andy Rubin has posted a tweet in which he shares the pleasant news of Google activating more than 300,000 phones each day.
RIM (Research in Motion), which many of you know as the makers of the BlackBerry phones have unveiled their first ever BlackBerry Tablet. The tablet which prior to today’s announcement was residing in the rumor land is called PlayBook. Let’s decide how playful it actually is by looking at its specs (1 Ghz Dual Core processor, 1 GB RAM…) after the jump.
Remember the BlackBerry Tablet specs shared by Rodman & Renshaw analyst Ashok Kumar? Even though the specs sounded rational, it didn’t have one thing, a RIM insider acknowledgement. That’s where Betanews have scored. A source close to RIM has informed Betanews that the specs shared by Kumar are indeed real.
We all know what happens before a gadget gets its official announcement, we get to hear all sort of rumors regarding the specs of the gadget. RIM’s BlackBerry Tablet is no different. Rodman & Renshaw’s analyst, Ashok Kumar has shared his belief of RIM folks might be incorporating in their tablet.
Sources report that RIM folks are busy in preparing and testing their upcoming mobile phone and Tablet as a response to Apple’s game changing iPhone and iPad. BlackBerry 9800 is the phone that will be offering resistance to Apple’s ever growing smartphone.
Want to know when RIM plans to roll out its next version of BlackBerry OS, known by many as BlackBerry 6.0? Then step right in. RIM‘s co-CEO Mike Lazaridis in today’s analyst call revealed that the next update for BlackBerry’s mobile OS is coming in the next calendar quarter which points to nothing else but the quarter 3 of the current year.
While it’s still only a rumor, there’s a good chance that an official WordPress app is soon to arrive for the Google Android platform as the WordPress.org subdomain “android.wordpress.org” has already been setup, although not in use at this time.

Windows Mobile has found itself India as a new market in which to expand Microsoft’s mobile business. This interesting information was extracted based on an interview given by Rishi Srivastava, who happens to be a consumer and online marketing officer of Microsoft India. The Microsoft India representative revealed that Windows Mobile is way ahead of Apple’s iPhone and BlackBerry by a margin of 3-4 times.
Clear Channel has unleashed iheartradio, a radio app for Android powered phones. The streaming radio app prior to this launch was already available for the iPhone and BlackBerry platform and it was only a matter of time before it was announced for the ever growing mobile platform from Google.
