Engadget’s source have once again proven themselves as a reliable one and have done the giant gadget a world of good as well. 12th August, the previously rumored release date for Droid 2 has just received the official confirmation thanks to a PR rolled out by Verizon and Motorola. According to Engadget’s reliable source, Droid 2, the next chapter in Droid book is expected to go live on 12th of August. With the Droid X officially released, it is only natural to see leakages and rumors surface for the Droid successor and create excitement among the Droid loving folks.
Droid X has had an impressive first day at the office is the immediate thought that comes to the mind when you read the title of the post. This should be no surprise either as the Motorola branded handset was headed towards glory and this can well be considered the first step towards that goal. Various Verizon retail stores have been reported to have run out of stock.

Droid Xtreme has gotten an official announcement, but that doesn’t mean that the rumors should stop for the other Droid successor, Droid 2. According to the latest round of rumor, the device will go live on 23rd August and is expected to be stocked with Froyo aka Android 2.2.
