According to sholes.info, Android 2.1 which is running on Google Phone called Nexus One has been ported to Droid via an image file. Well that’s not a surprise is it? We all knew that this was going to happen and it has happened. However, it would be wise that you don’t port the latest Android version just now, as the current image file is known to have some issues and will not preserve file system permissions. It is the week of showering updates at Verizon. At the start of this week, they announced the roll out OTA update for Motorola Droid, and now they are doing the same for Droid Eris from HTC. The update has version number 1.16.605.1 and brings SMS/MMS improvements and more.
Very recently, Verizon rolled out an OTA (over the air) update for Motorola Droid to fix certain number of problems that the Motorola phone was suffering from such as autofocus problem and more. Currently Droid users are dependent on Verizon to get the much awaited OTA update. A hack has been made available that gives you the option to manually update to Android 2.0.1 and eliminates the need to rely on Verizon to roll out the update (Steps listed below)

Well Verizon has confirmed the arrival of that very over the air update for the Motorola’s high profile device. The high profile carrier provider has indicated the update to arrive in the coming weeks.

Now Google Maps Navigation can run on the likes of T-Mobile myTouch 3G and G1 and other supported devices.
