Etisalat opens the door to the Nokia Ovi store

Nokia and Etisalat have joined hands to announce that their customers in UAE will now have the opportunity to purchase content from the Nokia Ovi Store with billing directly to their mobile phone account. Etisalat is the first telecom company to launch this kind of service in UAE. The pleasant news is that the consumers will be able to use this service for both pre-paid and post-paid accounts. So, now you can download plenty of games, apps, wallpapers, videos, other personalized content for your Nokia devices and enjoy this excellent billing facility that has been provided to you by Nokia and Etisalat.

Du to introduce iPhone in UAE

According to Gulf News, UAE will see the first iPhone 3Gs on October 27. The booking is opened for the smartphone.
Etisalat, the biggest player in the UAE’s telecom market, said that it would bring the phone to the market by the end of this month.
Osman Sultan, chief executive of the du said:
In the last decade, the focus was on mobility. Now, and in the coming many years, broadband is the name of the game, the next big thing is to be able to offer our triple play offering nationwide.

The company is holding discussions with the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority and etisalat to expand its reach to bring its triple play services of landline telephone, internet and television across the UAE.
Sultan said:
We are hoping to see something happen in 2010,
We are insisting on broadband. We have the fastest internet speed for the residential market [at 24Mbps] and we would like to provide this nationwide,
