Firefox 3.6.2 unleashed, fixes a critical security hole

Mozilla has rolled out an update to its latest browser Firefox 3.6. This update takes the version number to 3.6.2 which can also be referred to as Firefox 3.6.2. The upgrade doesn’t bring any new features. Instead it is a security, performance and stability release that fixes one critical security bug. More on that after the jump.

Mozilla to end Firefox 3.0 support

Mozilla has finally called it quits for Firefox 3.0. No that doesn’t mean you can’t continue using the 3.0 version of Firefox. Its just that the open source browser support is nearing its end. The last update to the browser Firefox 3.0.19 is scheduled to arrive on 30th March which will be the last update.
Firefox 4.0 alpha 2 released, brings out of process plug-ins

Ever since the roll out of Firefox 3.6, one of the goals set by the Firefox team was to bring out of process plug-ins and tabs in Firefox 4.0. Both of these functionalities fall under their project called Electrolysis. Firefox 4.0 Alpha 2 has been released, which features one aspect of Electrolysis – out of process plug-ins along with a few other improvements.
Android flavor of Firefox coming in February

It has been a while since we talked about Firefox. Infact the last time we talked was, about the release of final version of Firefox 3.6 which, by the way is running pretty fast and stable. Sources report that Firefox will be hitting the Android platform possibly in February which is pretty near, provided the open-source browser makers, plan to release it in the early part of February.
Firefox 3.6 has arrived

We said Firefox 3.6 was arriving today and guess what it has arrived. This release comes after months of testing, beta and release candidate releases. The latest iteration of Mozilla’s open source browser is 20% faster than Firefox 3.5. Features list and download link after the jump. It has been released for Windows, Linux and Mac platform.
Firefox 3.6 coming your way on 21st January

Mozilla‘s browser team, Firefox has certainly taken a fresh start at the new year and seems more poised to meeting their deadlines than ever before. A couple of days back, Firefox 3.6 RC2 was released and now the big announcement has been made. Final version of Firefox 3.6 will be unleashed tomorrow i.e on 21st January at 9:30 AM PST (Pacific Standard Time.)

As we reported last week, Firefox‘s latest version of 3.6 Release Candidate 1, has been released to the general public. Mozilla has just released a new release candidate of Firefox 3.6, which promises to be even faster than the current beta or 3.5 editions. Firefox 3.6 RC arrives, but not the full version

Mozilla after so many broken promises, vowed to unleash Firefox 3.6 RC at the start of this month and that is what exactly has happened. Yes, the release candidate for Firefox 3.6 has finally arrived. As with every release, the RC brings bug fixes and performance improvements.
Mozilla to release final version of Firefox 3.6 and Firefox 4.0 in 2010

Mozilla has announced its browser plans for the year 2010. Unfortunately, the release date for final version of Firefox 3.6 has been pushed back to 2010. The arrival of Firefox 3.6 RC seems also unlikely. Final release of Firefox 4.0 is expected to arrive in late part of 2010 or early part of 2011.

Mozilla has just released Firefox 3.6 Beta 5. The 5th Beta for the next version of Firefox which comes out three weeks after the launch of Firefox 3.6 Beta 4 is available for download for Mac, Linux and Windows platform. It will not be wrong to consider this version as a stable, security and performance improvement release as it brings fixes for more than 100 bugs.
