Samsung has made it loud and clear, they won’t be making last minute changes to the recently announced Galaxy Tab 10.1 to stand up against the recently announced iPad 2, which is set to go live this Friday.
Your worst fear has come true. Samsung which was expected to unveil its Galaxy Tab successor Yesterday has done just that but shockingly has chosen to call it Galaxy Tab 10.1. Mind you the name is the only ugly thing about the Tablet as you will see from the specs listed after the break.
You know what I am going to say right? Yep, it’s pouring Galaxy Tab 2 rumors. Hot on the heels of sharing with you the hardware characteristics of the Galaxy Tab successor, we now have a strange happening to share with you folks. Apparently, the Honeycomb sporting Tablet won’t be called Galaxy Tab II (or 2) as many of us have been led to believe up till now. Instead it will be called Galaxy Tab 10.1.
Let me be the first one to say that I am not surprised to see these last minute Galaxy Tab leakages and rumors. I say last minute simply because old Sammy is set to unveil their next generation Android Tablets and Phones come tomorrow. Anyways, back to the point of this post. According to PocketLint’s unnamed sources, the proud makers of Galaxy Tab will be unveiling the sequel to the Galaxy Tab lineup in Barcelona, which is highly likely to be called Galaxy Tab 2.
Samsung has promised to unveil their next generation of products in February. Speculations has led us to expect Koreans to announce the Galaxy S and Galaxy Tab successors at the Mobile World Congress show in February. And now we have the official confirmation that Galaxy S 2 and Galaxy Tab 2 will be unveiled in Barcelona on 13th February.

Samsung die hard fans were disappointed by the recently concluded Consumers Electronic Show 2011 as the electronic manufacturers didn’t unveil their next generation of smartphones and tablets, and limited their announcements to 4G smartphones and tablets only. There is good news however as Samsung intends to unveil their next generation of Android devices in February at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

According to Korea Times, the Koreans may very well unveil the the Samsung Galaxy successor, which is likely to be called Galaxy S2 at one of the world’s largest consumer technology trade show.
