Well Well Well, look who has decided to show up? Its HP Slate, the Tablet that has had an undecided future so far but this is all going to change today. CNET has received an email which besides containing some close up shots of the Windows 7 powered Tablet brings the good news of HP Slate 500 getting an official announcement come 25th October.
An interesting bit of news has come out of Fortune’s Brainstorm conference with HP providing an update on the seemingly dead HP Slate product. In addition to that, webOS 2.0 release date was discussed as well.
Microsoft‘s week has come to a crushing end. I say this because sources suggest that HP has decided to kill its Windows 7 powered HP Slate project. The thing to ask here of course is why? The answer which won’t go down well with Microsoft is its highly successful Windows 7.
The HP Slate demos of Adobe Flash and the mobile experience definitely had the tech world excited. But it turns out that is the only place where HP Slate looks awesome as a Spanish blogger found out. The blogger who blogs at Conecti.ca got some time to play with the Windows 7 powered tablet and wasn’t impressed by it and termed it as a netbook with touchscreen.
Last time the, HP folks showed the features that HP Slate had and iPad didn’t have: Adobe Flash and Air support. This time they have rolled out another video which is based on the same theme : Highlight the cool features of the Windows 7 powered tablet that are missing from the Apple Tablet. Engadget have gotten their hands on something pretty important – an internal document detailing the specs of the upcoming HP Slate, which some folks are considering as Microsoft’s answer to iPad. The document contains the specs as well as the pricing detail of the Tablet.
Back in January, Steve Ballmer announced HP Slate, Microsoft’s answer to iPad. To be fair HP Slate offers one thing which iPad falsely claims to provide – complete web browsing experience which of course includes playing Flash games, viewing Flash videos and more. We told you that Microsoft would be announcing the HP Slate and guess what – it has been announced. It was unveiled by none other than Steve Ballmer during his CES 2010 keynote speech. From the initial look, it comes out as a beautiful looking device and since this is HP we are talking about, it bound to have a appeal to it as you can see from the picture shown below (Prototype video shown below)
