Nokia has rolled out another firmware update, the second actually for E72. This update takes E71 successor firmware version to 023.002. Ovi Maps off to a flier, downloaded 1 million times in just the first week of launch

Remember the recently updated Ovi Maps which brought free voice based turn by turn walk and traffic directions for all? Well the very same Maps app has proved to be a gem for Nokia as it has been download for more than 1 million times within just one week of its launch. Wow – this does say something about the app and Nokia’s strategy don’t you think. On an average, it is downloaded on an average of one per second which alone says quite a lot. This information was shared by Nokia’s executive Vice President, Anssi Vanjoki.
SkyFire 1.5 unleashed for Symbian S60 3rd and 5th edition

SkyFire has released SkyFire 1.5 for the Symbian platfrom. Previously, we informed you about the availability of the alpha version of SkyFire 1.5 for Symbian, but now the final version has arrived for S60 3rd and 5th edition, which makes it stand equivalent to the same version for the Windows Mobile platform. In general, this release brings a faster browsing experience and a smoother UI. What’s more interesting is the fact that it is now available for the touch screen phones (S60 5th edition) from Nokia such as Nokia 5800, Nokia N97 and other exciting phones. Yes you can also use it on Nokia E series devices such as Nokia E72, Nokia E71 and other E family members. Features list provided after the jump.
Nokia E72 firmware updated to v22.007

Finally, Nokia E72 has got it’s first firmware update since its launch. The new firmware updates the version to 22.007. Even thought the Software Update app on the phone indicates that a new phone software is available, you still cannot update the firmware OTA (over-the-air). All you need to do is just use the Nokia Software Updater (NSU) to get it done. As we still await for an official log, this update is believed to bring fixes for some bugs and performance related issues.
Spotify for Symbian app updated to version 0.3.22 – supports Nokia E72 and other devices

Recently Spotify launched its mobile app for Symbian platform which enabled Symbian handset owners to enjoy streaming music directly from their handset. Well we have got more news on that. The digital music service provider has updated the Symbian Beta version of the app to version 0.3.22 (61361). The latest update brings support for more devices (including the high profile Nokia E72 ) from Nokia, Samsung and Sony Ericsson along with a few bug fixes (List of all the changes included below)

Skype has just launched the much awaited Skype app for Symbian platform, and has given it the name Skype for Symbian. The just released app is currently in Beta version and supports a limited number of phones from the Finnish based company, Nokia. The app runs on Wi-Fi or 3G connection. Skype plans to bring support for more Nokia phones once they roll out the final version. (Features listed below)
