So you though that modding, hacking and rooting (jailbreak for iPhone) was limited to Android and iDevices only? Well here is a surprising news for you – Nokia N8 has received a hacking treatment as well. A hacker who goes by the name hyperX has managed to mod the 12 MP camera of the Symbian 3 powered N8 and has enabled the handset to do 30 frames per second video recording (versus the default 25fps) and continuous autofocus.
A moment of truth has arrived, signaling an end to the never-ending wait for Nokia’s most sensational device to date, Nokia N8. That’s right folks, the Finlanders have started shipping their first Symbian 3 powered handset to its owners across the globe, as we told you earlier.
If you thought that Nokia’s sold out Nokia World 2010 was all about announcing the trio of Symbian 3 handsets, then you are missing the fun part. Nokia made full use of the opportunity and took some well planned and thoughtful shot at Apple and at Google as well. More on that after the jump.
Do you know what day it is today? It’s the Nokia World 2010 day and as expected the Finlander’s event was full of interesting announcements. The phones which had seen the daylight via the leaked route have been given an official announcement and some attention grabbing and never disclosed before details were revealed about the announced devices. The question which has had many Nokia N8 fanatics pondering for days has finally been answered. And, Yes it is of the official nature. Tapani Kaskinen, Nokia’s Senior Comms Manager has revealed about the Finlanders’ plan to launch/ship Nokia N8 starting from 30th September.
Nokia may not be everyone’s preferred smartphone manufacturer these days but it turns out that Nokia has potential to do so. Nokia’s not so long ago launched E5 has reached a world record of running the most number of apps simultaneously and has become the new multi-tasking king. Video evidence included.
I think it would be safe to say that Nokia has a major leakage problem provided they see it as a problem. First the C7 images leaked out and now the specs of the QWERTY shaped Nokia N9 have leaked out.
