A few days back we shared with you the news of Swype hacked for Android along with a video that showed Swype running on Droid Eris from HTC. Swype, in short is a must have typing technology for on-screen keyboards that lets you type faster as it does not require to lift your fingers while typing. Well there is good news for Windows Mobile phone owners, the geeks at XDA have extracted Swype from Samsung Omnia 2 and have released it publicly so that you can use it with your HTC HD2 and other smartphones. A couple of weeks back, we shared with you the news of HTC HD2 ROM running on Samsung Omnia 2. One of the advantage that HTC HD2 based ROM provides is the slicky looking Sense UI interface. Most mobile phone users seem to have developed a liking for HTC HD2. Would you believe me if I told you that Samsung Omnia 2 is capable of running an HTC HD2 ROM, a modified ROM for that matter? Well if you have got any doubts about the Omnia’s performance being affected running the specialized ROM, then see the embedded video to get the answer to all your queries.
The ROM brings with it, the ever cool Sense UI 2.5 and other HTC goodies. As you can see from the video, the multi-touch mobile phone runs smoothly and apparently has no performance issues.
Is this the first modified HTC HD2 ROM? No, as a matter of fact, the folks at XDA have developed a customized HTC HD2 ROM for each and every living HTC device. The ROM is expected to arrive soon. But the big question is will you be running the ROM that is yet to arrive on your very cool Omnia 2 smartphone.
Samsung Omnia 2 coming August 23

It has been reported that the 23rd of August is going to be quite a day for mobile phone lovers as a snapshot of Best Buy’s computers shows that several handsets will hit the market.
The snapshot suggests that on August the 23rd we will see number of mobile phones inlcuding the LG BL40 Chocolate Touch, the Samsung Rogue, Samsung Omnia 2, Samsung u450 Intensity, and Global AirCard.
On the same day the LG Xenon in red and Samsung Solstice will be hitting AT&T, the Samsung Gravity 2 hits T-Mobile, and the BlackBerry Tour, a new shipment hits Sprint. It is not confirmed but the it has been stated that there is a chance of the M330 to hit on the 8th of September, moreover there is not much information about that phone.
For the time being it’s a Samsung handset headed for Sprint, along with the Samsung Reclaim can be seen just off screen at the very top. Date can not be predicted but it will be out sometime in August.
