Office 2010 reaches RTM stage

Guess what Office 2010 did today? It reached the Release to Manufacturing (RTM)milestone. What that means is that the development process has come to an end and Microsoft’s premium suite of Office products are ready for the prime time.
Microsoft Project 2010 Beta to arrive by the end of 2009

Microsoft Yesterday made an announcement regarding its project planning and management software, Microsoft Project. Microsoft has shed light on the fact that a public beta of Project 2010 would arrive by the end of this year.
Used primarily for managing large scale projects, Microsoft Project is built on SharePoint Server and comes integrated with Office and Outlook. Chris Capossela, senior vice president of the Microsoft Information Worker Product Management group regards this release as a major release. He said:
This is far and away the largest and most significant release of Project in a decade.
So what’s coming in Project 2010, we don’t have the complete details, But what we know is that as expected Ribbon Interface will be coming to Project 2010, also this version is expected to give its users more focused control over their scheduling changes.

During the current unfortunate recession period it has been observed that sales of Project have increased since the software helps companies manage projects more efficiently. Capossela also revealed that Microsoft just reached its 10,000th Project customer, and 10 million people use it. He said:
We’re seeing growth in the project and portfolio management space.
Microsoft Project 2010 will be coming in three versions namely
- Microsoft Project Standard 2010
- Microsoft Project Professional 2010
- Microsoft Project Server 2010
