Here’s a shut up call for those who thought Windows 7 was a failed product and couldn’t clean the mess created by the unsuccessful Windows Vista. Today is Windows 7 first birthday and what a year it has been. According to Microsoft the Redmondians have sold more than 240 million licenses of the rich user experience offering Windows 7.
Well well well, what we have here – Microsoft’s COO Kevin Turner has taken a shot at Apple’s troublesome iPhone 4 and has termed it as Cupertinos’ Vista. iPhone 4 might be their Vista were the words churned out by Turner which would have surely delighted Steve Ballmer if not the entire Redmondian team.
Here is a shut up call for those who thought Windows 7 was far far away from a success story. According to the Windows Blog, Microsoft has managed to sell more than 150,000 copies of Windows 7 and that too in just 8 months since its launch.

Microsoft didn’t get it right with Vista, but they have got everything smooth and correct with the Vista successor, Windows 7. Windows 7 is off to a good start – there should be no doubts about that. NetMarketShare stats reveal that Windows 7 has managed to secure 10% of market share. This is simply fantastic considering the fact that it is only 3 months old.
