A new release date for Visual Studio 2010 has been announced. The multi-purpose developer tool from Microsoft will now be released on 12th April 2010. This news was shared by none other than one of my favorite Microsoftie Mary Jo Foley who came across this news via a one-liner post on Developer Division’s Marketing and Communications Manager Rob Caron’s blog.
Visual Studio 2010 release candidate coming in February (Updated)

Just in, Visual Studio team plans to release a public release candidate for Visual Studio 2010 and .NET 4 in February 2010. The feedback collected for Visual Studio 2010 Beta 2 revealed that the performance and virtual memory usage of VS 2010 Beta 2 was not where people expected it to be. So the purpose of this RC will be to test and ensure that the reported performance and virtual memory usage issues have been resolved for all possible scenarios and machine configurations.
