The moment has finally arrived for the Windows Phone 7 owners who have been longing for the NoDo aka No Donuts update. According to Winrumors, Microsoft has started pushing out the copy and paste update for the Windows Phone owners and unbranded Windows Phones are the first ones that are receiving the update.
Microsoft has been mum about providing a concrete release date for NoDo, Windows Phone 7 first real update. Well you don’t need to wait for the update to rollout anymore as XDA has leaked out the No Donuts ROM just for your Windows Phone 7 device.
Those who own Windows Phone 7 powered smartphones might have gone happy for a moment when the “An update is available” screen appeared on their handset. But the smile went away pretty quickly when they found that the installed update didn’t bring the much awaited copy and paste functionality, which brings us to the title of the post. Multiple sources have revealed that the overly due update has been delayed and won’t be coming any earlier than 8th March.
When Steve Ballmer took center stage in Las Vegas to kick off the Consumer Electronics Show for the year 2011, it was only a matter of time before he touched the Windows Phone 7 subject. And when he did, he confirmed to the Windows Phone audience that they will be getting their first Windows Phone 7 update.
Paul Thurrott, the Microsoft watcher has provided some exciting information about the first Windows Phone 7 update, which many of us refer to as the Copy/Paste update. According to the Thurrot, the first ever update for the glance and go experience offering mobile OS is called No Donuts (codenamed NoDo) and will be announce by Steve Ballmer tomorrow when Microsoft CEO kicks off the CES (Consumer Electronics Show) 2011 proceedings in Las Vegas.
Microsoft is expected to roll out the Copy/Paste update for Windows Phone 7 in early part of 2011. This statement can be made a bit more precise thanks to a rumor shared by WinRumors. According to the source, Microsoft will be talking about the said update at the the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) which is scheduled to kick off in January.
