Yahoo takes a u-turn advises users to switch to the New, Safer IE8
Aug 21st
You won’t believe it but this is true. All of a sudden, Yahoo has taken a U-turn on its previous stance of “Firefox being a safer and faster browser.” Now it is recommending its users to switch to Microsoft‘s latest browser IE8. Yahoo sees IE8 as a safer browser. About a year back, Yahoo was against Internet Explorer and recommended its users who were using Internet explorer to switch to a “safer and faster firefox”.

Personally I see couple of reasons behind this:
- Just recently IE8 was declared the browser with the best phishing filter, because of which it sees IE8 as a safer browser
- Since Yahoo and Microsoft are now business partners, and Microsoft is paying them, so all of a sudden IE8 becomes a safer browser than others The second reasons simply outclasses and puts the first reason out of picture. It is just my thinking. I am sure you will have your own thoughts. Please do share with us.
