Technology has evolved to be the change agent for the human race. The term is often used interchangeably with globalization. The concept of globalization and its essence with respect to technology has been discussed with different aspects by writers. Following is an account of the perspective few of the most famous commentators on the said topic:

Friedman’s venture of Globalization dominatingly described the planet Earth as being virtually flat rather than being round as it is narrated with respect to its geographical coordinates. The author exclaimed at discovering the availability of technologically advanced facilities in Bangalore, India that were linked directly to their sister corporations in the world of the west only via the .com phenomenon. The author described that events such as the coming down of the Berlin wall, the advent of Windows Operating System and the emergence of Netscape Navigator as the first few things that had begun the process of globalization. He emphasized that a few things should be adopted that would assist in the globalization arena. These may be: Outsourcing, off shoring, open sourcing, Insourcing, supply chaining, collaboration and VoIP.

Another aspect of technology innovation was delivered by the work of Carr (2005). Carr highlights the fact that in the ever evolving technological world of today companies were creating lots of redundant IT infrastructure only in order to maintain their individuality. The author emphasized that the large numbers of individual data centers should be replaced with vendor supplied standard infrastructure. These way broadly used components would be purchased at very cheap rates.

Anderson (2010) enlightened the fact that the technological advancements were bringing down the value of everyday things eventually leading to their being free. He narrated that cost effectiveness of energy efficient advanced architecture processes would eventually result in so much lowering of cost that it would be just near to free. This is similar to the corporate incentives given today in which one product is sold by vendors combined with another product that comes with it free of cost.

Christensen (2002) brings forth the current concepts of innovation as being unpredictable. The present state of innovation is equivalent to the quality movement of 20 years ago. The extent to which certain mode of innovation may be successful can be recognized by the recognition of variables I the current times. This way the success of business ventures and the innovation in them may also be assessed. The more a business would hold its command over the variables, the more would be the chances of its success.

Conclusively the outcome of the analysis done above may be that the integration of information technology has simplified everyday processes leading to cost effectiveness and energy efficiency.
