Google+ Tips

Once you are in the Google’s social network, then of course you will be required to build your profile from the scratch like you did on other social networks (Facebook and Twitter) that is by uploading albums, adding friends, filling personal information etc, which obviously is a long and time-taking procedure. Well, there is no need to worry, because we have found an easy and quick way for you to get things done in few simple steps.

Below are the few easy steps provided by a Google+ user named Mehdi Raza, that will help you to transfer photos and friends from Facebook and Twitter to Google+:

How to Transfer your photos and friends from Facebook / Twitter to Google+?
1) Transfer your photos
• Visit this link and download the photo grabber:
http://code.google.com/p/photograbber/downloads/list
• The Photo Grabber is a free and easy to use tool for downloading pictures from Facebook.
• It allows users to download entire albums as well as specific individual photos together with those pictures in which the user has been ‘tagged’ .
• Once downloaded, the pictures can be exported to Picasa, an image organizer and viewer, and another Google product; eventually to use with Google+. You can find Picasa here :http://picasa.google.com/
• Once Picasa picks up your photos from your hard drive, all you need to do is share your photos with the ‘Picasa web albums’. Google+ can then fetch your photos from Picasa web albums
2) Transfer friends from Facebook & Twitter
• Visit this link to download the friend exporter plugin for Google Chrome ( You need Chrome of course ):
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/ficlccidpkaiepnnboobcmafnnfoomga
• Create a .csv file from the friends’ exporter and then use the ‘Upload Address book’ under the ‘Find and Invite’ options from Google+ that is shown on the circles page.
• The exporter is blocked in some areas although I can access it at the moment. In all such cases and for Twitter the only option is to use your profile address for your friends to join you on Google+. There are many automated tools available for generating URLs from Google+ Profiles. Two of them are listed below:
o http://www.tinygplus.com/
o http://nickgplus.com/
• Tweet and post your shortened profile address every day so that it keeps appearing in your friend’s feeds and serves as a reminder.
Important:
o Remember to revoke all permissions and remove these plugins and applications after you are done. Make this a common practice for all such tools.
o Don’t hate me for bring a Google fanatic. I still use my Facebook account occasionally. Transferring the stuff nevertheless made me feel better (It’s my ‘stuff’ after all).
