Good news if you were thinking of purchasing the T-Mobile G1 or myTouch 3G. If you didn’t plan to purchase T-Mobile G1 or myTouch 3G uptill now, then may be this news might change your opinion. Anyway here it goes:Walmart has just dropped the price of the original Android phones i.e. Walmart has reduced  the prices of T-Mobile G1 as well as myTouch 3G. T-Mobile G1 will now cost $48.88 whereas myTouch 3G is priced at  $98.88 (with new 2-year contract).

What do you think about this deal?. I think of it as a great offer particularly if you consider the fact that various low profile and limited features smartphones are offered for the same price.

The deal doesn’t get much better than this. Does it?

At the time of writing this post, The updated and reduced prices for both the phone were not reflected on the Walmart website. However Tmonews has confirmed the price reduction by Walmart.

I don’t get it. Most of the authorized T-Mo retailers have been selling the MT3G for $99.99 with 2 year new contracts or renewals. What’s the big deal about WalMart meeting the existing pricing?
