That’s what I call a pleasant surprise. Cr-48, Google’s prototype notebook also referred to as the Chrome Notebook has played host to two high rated operating systems in Windows 7 and Snow Leopard. Video demo of Chrome OS running foreign operating systems follows after the break.

Chrome Notebook Windows 7

The Windows 7 port is working just like an average Windows install. The only annoying thing about  this is that the installation of Microsoft’s most successful operating system has left the notebook with only 2 GB of space.

Everything works the same as you’d expect on your average Windows install. Unfortunately, only about 2GB of space is left once Windows, drivers, and updates are installed. Regardless, it’s pretty cool.

So how’s the Mac OS X coming along? Well, the trackpad won’t be giving you a pointer experience you would want, you can’t put your notebook in sleep mode. But hey, the notebook is still running Snow Leopard and the above mentioned bugs can always be fixed.
