WordPress brings the blog subscription by email option
WordPress, your favorite open source blogging tool, just got a new option called Blog subscription by email. As the name suggests, using this option users will be able to receive an email notification each time a new blog post is added to the subscribed weblog.
This option is a pretty useful addition, since it brings value and benefit to both the reader/subscriber and the blog contributors (authors). Readers receive an instant email notification each time the weblog is updated, meaning you don’t miss out any latest and important update. What does this mean for you (bloggers) - more traffic for your blog and a more consistent one I must add.
Apparently, this option has been enabled for wordpress.com blogs only, and is not available for self-hosted WordPress blogs. The only explanation I can come think of, is to test this feature first before rolling out on a global level. This option is located under the Comment Box with text Notify me of new posts via email
This is one change I have always wanted ever since WordPress incorporated the comment subscription by email option. Do you agree with me on this or do you have something to add? In any case you are welcome to voice your opinion.
